Today Raptors broadcaster, Matt Devlin, hinted on his blog that the new intro will “celebrate the city”. While someĀ over at RealGM believe it could be a local artist like Kardinal Offishall, I, like many others tend to think it’s Young Jeezy’s “Put On“. While I can’t knock the track selection (it is a hot song), I don’t think it’s a good choice because of the fact that it’s an easy selection that will undoubtedly be the intro for many other NBA teams, like Kanye’s “Stronger” was last year.
If you’re an NBA fan, I’m sure that you’ll agree that the intro is a huge aspect of the experience, especially when watching live. A team like Toronto relies heavily on crowd participation that gives us true feeling of home court advantage. I’m just hoping the guys in charge of the song selection won’t make such a short-sighted choice. My personal favorite is still the Chicago Bulls’ intro.

Nice to see your blog listed on realgm and I have included it in my aggregator of Raptors Content. http://snaptopic.com/sports/nba/toronto-raptors
